About me ...

Picture
I was born and bred in Surrey, but since 1998 I have lived in sunny Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset. I live with my two sons and a budgie called Rio - trying very hard to hold onto my Surrey accent!

For years, never knowing what I really wanted to do in life, I persevered with boring jobs, until my two boys joined my nest and I was allowed to stay at home.  In an attempt to find something to work around my sons, and to ensure I never endured full time boredom again, I found writing.

At first it was an addictive hobby, then, in 2009, wanting to improve my craft (in the hope I might get paid), I embarked on a voyage - the Writers Bureau Comprehensive Writing Course.

I entered the Mills and Boon New Voice competition in 2010 and made some marvellous virtual writing friends, which lead to me attending the RNA conference in 2011.

From the conference I learned about the RNA New Writers' Scheme, and joined it in 2012. In the summer of 2013, my dream came true, and my first novel, Plus One is a Lucky Number was published by HarperCollins' imprint, HarperImpulse. One Fine Day followed in 2015, and my latest novel, Meet Me At Wisteria Cottage was published April 2017.

In 2016 I was thrilled to have Keane Kataria Literary Agency agree to represent me.

During 2020 I have been completing the Writers Bureau Proofreading and Copy Editing course.

2020 also brought good news in the form of a three book contract with Sapere Books. Cocktails at Kittiwake Cove will be published in Spring/Summer 2021!

I am at my happiest baking cakes, putting proper home cooked dinners on the table (whether the kids eat them or not), reading a good romance, or sitting at my PC emptying the thoughts from my head onto the screen.

I love writing contemporary romance, creating stories with a touch of escapism and heroes readers will fall in love with.

Weston Writers' Nights and Weston Literary Festival

I'm involved in local writing events with the Weston Writers' Nights and Weston Literary Festival. I belong to the Weston To Wells RNA Chapter - in fact, I've found myself appointed the social secretary! If you live between Weston and Wells and are part of the RNA, you're more than welcome to join us. This is our Facebook Page!
